Working Principle
The A1121 Automatic Pour Point Tester and Cloud Point Tester operates based on the controlled cooling method combined with automatic observation of sample flow behavior.
During the test, the petroleum sample is placed in a test chamber and gradually cooled under controlled conditions. As temperature decreases, wax crystals begin to form in the oil, affecting its flow characteristics.
For cloud point testing, the instrument detects the temperature at which the first visible wax crystals appear, causing the oil to become cloudy. For pour point testing, the instrument identifies the lowest temperature at which the oil still flows under gravity.
The system automatically tilts the sample at predefined intervals and monitors flow behavior. Once flow ceases, the instrument records the temperature as the pour point. All test data is processed automatically and displayed or printed for documentation.
This automated process ensures high repeatability, reduces human error, and fully complies with ASTM and GB/T standard testing procedures.
